WOO!!

Im rather happy today. For why? FINALLY we have sound return to this computer. A wire or connection was lost in the amplifier of the system we were previously using, but not to worry!!

A quick jaunt down to Oxfam by y brother yeilded the positive results of :

(brace yourself, its a good one)

2...really...REALLY...REALLY...REALLY low quality speakers.

Still, the low quality more than makes up for the total lack of sound i have experience for an ENTIRE week. And sitting alone in this room fro most of Thursday and Wednesday on the internet and MSN has been utter hell without the music of Muse, Don Davies, Nobuo Uematsu or even Britney to pacify my moods.

So, to this blog. Well, im posting for one reason and one reason only. If i see a person before she sees this and berates me for having not blogged, i can hold my head up high, don a really silly (but nonetheless smug) grin, and proclaim, in a proud, steady and happy voice : "YOU WOULD DOUBT ME?! I, MY GOOD WOMAN...HAVE BLOGGED!!" (arm raised in proclamation and granduer. Realise how silly i look and run.)

I've been rehearsing that all day.

Ok, maybe not. The oppertunitymay never present itself, and even if it does, i certaily wouldnt make myself look like that much of a fool knowingly.

So, i had two exams this week, German Listening (Higher Tier) and English Literature (also, suprisingly enough, Founda- i mean, Higher Tier). So, i present these brief reviews of them:

German Listening

Initially, it didnt seem like this exam was going to be much to worry about. I'd done enough revision to know what most of the questions where going to be on, and we'd done a lot of prior preperation in the lessons beforehand, so i was reltively prepared for the format of the exam and the general content of the questions, and how they'd be asked. What i wasn't prepared for however, was what made this examination one of the most torturous i've done :

The acoustics in the school hall

These were, in a word : horrendous (I could have used an obscenity there, but decided against it. Im 16 in a week. Time to grow up methinks.) The echoes bouncing off of the walls of the hall made every sound that came out of the cassette recorder entirely inaudible. Essentially, it was Weebl-ised, at least Weebl as voiced in 'Birthday Wishes'. (If you have no idea who Weebl or his friend Bob is, or do not know about their everyday happenings, you need to get out less.)

So, back to the exam. I couldn't hear a thing, i didnt hear the answers, so i think i failed that one. Ah well, im not doing German by choice, and im not doing it next year for A level. Give me Drama anyday (do i hear the distant voice of David Chandler and Richard Lewis on the wind? What are they saying? Just...through? oh throw...my.....life away. Just THROW my life away eh? Computing dave? and GERMAN Lewis? Ugh, just throw your life away both of you...)

English Literature

Aaaah, pure unadulterated English literary bliss! A whole 105 minute slot of poetry and Of Mice and Men! The Of Mice and Men question presented the easiest 45 minutes of answer writing i had, so i believe i picked up quite a few marks there. I made a bit of a shambles on the poetry question. In retrospect i may have picked the wrong question, but think i scraped enough marks to gain a B or an A.

So, next exam is biology on the 7th, when i am 16 years and 1 day old. Woo... great timing.

Well, thats that blog over and done with. Now to post on another blog...
